Thief: Difference between revisions
Baseline Thief page. Could potentially benefit from a Tips/Tricks section, or a section on how Crew should "fight back" against Thieves, though I personally thinking encouraging Crew to get gungho and deny Thief gameplay could lead to uninteresting rounds for all involved. |

Thieves are petty yet crafty criminals who can't keep their hands to themselves. Forcefully injected with a pacifism implant after a previous arrest, they are incapable of combat but won't give up until they steal everything they need to perfect their personal collection.
Overview
As a Thief, there's only one thing you'll ever have to do, and it's also the one thing you're good at. Stealing things from people. You start with a couple perks to assist in accomplishing the heist of your dreams.
- Thieving Beacon: A piece of equipment that, depending on your objectives, will likely be required to succeed. Pick a secluded spot, set it on the floor, and unfold it. When the escape shuttle leaves at the end of the round, it will teleport anything around it to your secret vault, considering it successfully stolen. It can be folded back up and moved if you don't want to leave it in one place for too long.
- Undetermined Thieving Satchel: Everything you need to pull off your master plan... or at least most of it. When interacted with you'll get to choose two bundles of useful items out of a list of seven. It'll then transform into a Smuggler's Satchel with everything you chose inside, which has the ability to be hidden under floor panels.
- Pickpocketing: The ability to swipe things off people without them even knowing. Click the button on your UI to toggle it on and off. When you go to strip items off people in close range, you'll be able to take them completely silently. Be careful though, as if that Security Officer notices his ID just magically disappeared out of his pockets, he might put the pieces together...
Of course though, with all upsides come a downside. Pacifism. Part of being a Thief is the complete inability to harm anyone for any reason. No swinging things at people, no firing weapons at all, you can't even throw a heavy object for fear it may hit someone. In a pinch you can still push people over or slip people, but if you're being chased by all of Security for blasting open the wall to the Captain's office, that won't be enough. That's why being stealthy and keeping your actions under wraps are vital to succeeding as a Thief.
Tools of the Trade
A heist is nothing without planning it out beforehand, so think long and hard about your Thief Kit options before you choose. Remember, you only get two!
