Introduction

The Central Cargo Division, also known as CCD, is the primary logistical branch of Central Command. Often seen working and overseeing the Cargo department within various Central Command sites, they work to ensure that locations get required supplies and ordered shipments. Most things ordered through the ATS are checked off by someone within the division.

History

The Central Cargo Division was one of the original divisions originally created by Central Command after their transformation from Stellar Vanguard Solutions concluded, to ensure logistical needs were met and that the other divisions could continue to get their work done with ample resources. Individuals recruited into the Cargo Division often had a lengthy background in logistical and shipping work, with seasoned Quartermasters being an ideal choice. Leaders of experienced Salvage teams are occasionally considered, but are found to be too much of a liability in a majority of cases. The Central Cargo Division finds itself usually understaffed compared to other departments, but their work ethic is hard to match when comparing what they are working with.

Responsibilities

As previously stated, the Central Cargo Division’s role is to ensure that various Central Command sites as well as Stations of interest are properly supplied with various essential supplies, as well as shipping orders they receive through the ATS. Lower ranking employees within the department find themselves moving freight and taking courses on essential supply lines and current economic values. Often times in the event of suspicious transactions or a sudden surge of spessos, the Cargo Division may forward the information to the Intelligence Division. Members of this department occasionally come along on official inspections, prioritizing how on-scene cargo departments are faring, as well as ensuring adequate funding is being procured from bounties and salvage treasure. Members of the Cargo Division are also tasked with ensuring that station Quartermasters are properly trained for their role.

Hierarchy

The ranking structure for the Central Cargo Division is quite simple, with their responsibilities increasing along with their pay. As one progresses within their career, a member of the Cargo Division moves from a shuttle and into an office, along with beginning to oversee large supply lines and various critical manifests.

  • Intern - Newly hired personnel of the Cargo Division. After onboarding, their primary roles are assisting in moving critical freight and learning various important theories related to market value, while also assisting senior personnel in reviewing manifests from stations. Can be seen as the hardest workers within the department.
  • Clerk - Standard workers within the department. No longer physically handling freight, they move to a clerical position to deal with paperwork such as manifests and flight logs from manned shuttles. Is adequate enough to fulfil their work with minimal oversight, though log any irregularities with their supervisor while ensuring profit stays up.
  • Resource Specialist - Senior personnel of the Cargo Division. Often seen coordinating supply chains, either from origin locations to Central Command stockpiles, or from stockpiles to needed destinations. Assists in tutoring Interns within various topics during free-time, which usually isn’t very often due to the usual understaffing.
  • Acquisition Manager - A leadership position, often acting as the Quartermaster for specific Central Command sites. Ensures that all required supply moves to where it needs to go with minimal issues while verifying that all incoming supply to storage is accounted for by on-scene personnel. Profit is seen as more valuable than normal station personnel.
  • Distribution Coordinator - Senior leadership personnel, placed either in charge of the logistics of large bases or is a regional coordinator for various sites and all corporate supply that moves through it. Typically have goals assigned to them by the Chief, to which they usually assign to their subordinates in reply to keep numbers high.
  • Chief Distributor - The ones in charge of the Cargo Division, keeping tabs on the various Coordinators within corporate space and ensuring that quality and profit are being kept at an all-time high. They have a seat on the Central Operations Council due to their position and due to the business of their work, is rarely seen within certain sectors due to a lack of time.
