Paramedic is a job in the Medical department.
As a paramedic, your job is to make sure the crew stay alive and well. Your job cycle consists of waiting until somebody goes into critical condition or no-longer-living condition and taking them to medical so the other doctors can take care of them.
As a paramedic at round start you have access to a paramedic hardsuit, handheld crew monitoring console, and jaws of life. While the jaws of life do let you move about the station as you please, do try to work with other departments to get access to the injured.
Note your crew monitoring console only shows you location and information on crew who are badly injured. (though if they were healthy, would you need to know anyways?)
Epinephrine is also your friend, both for saving people from crit! (and when you might need a little boost to run away from the carps that ate the poor janitor you were tasked to recover.)
