Central Administration Division
Introduction
The Central Administrative Division, also known as CAD, is the largest bureaucratic branch of Central Command as well as the division that stations often make contact with when faxing Central Command. They are the ones primarily responsible for routing and dealing with communications, while also ensuring that any notable incidents are properly logged.
History
The Central Administrative Division was the newest branch created by Central Command after their conversion from Stellar Vanguard Solutions, requiring additional coordination between the various divisions as well as the stations they were needing to oversee. Due to its administrative and paperwork focus, its members were typically pulled from individuals who had an administrative background and experience. This could include a multitude of jobs within the private and public sector across the galaxy, or often Heads of Personnel that are recruited straight from the station after long-term screening. The Central Administrative Division created the logistical support needed to ensure the future divisions added would be able to be properly coordinated and established a baseline as to what was to come.
Responsibilities
As previously stated, the Central Administrative Division's role and responsibilities are primarily large-scale bureaucracy as well as communications between other divisions and stations within various sectors. Routing various faxes is a common duty for lower ranking employees, due to the influx of both important and non-important information flowing in. Archiving and making records of various incidents and events for future examination by other departments is also one of their duties, as CAD typically has the most information originally compared to the other divisions. Typically, members of CAD are also inspection leaders whenever Central Command wishes to conduct a tour of one of the stations in their sector for the purposes of quality control or possibly resolving incidents. Finally, if there is conflict between divisions, CAD will organize the Central Operations Council to resolve any disagreements.
Hierarchy
The ranking structure for the Central Administrative Division is relatively straight-forward, with their responsibilities increasing along with their pay. Typically the higher a CAD’s rank, the less they deal with daily faxes and more-so coordinating inspections and collaborating with other departments, though this may not always be the case depending on staffing.
- Intern - The newly hired CAD personnel. After finishing orientation and receiving their welcoming packet, they are responsible for learning from others and assisting senior personnel within the department. Usually found around the fax or coffee machine, they learn the thought process behind how to respond to various command personnel aboard stations.
- Executive Assistant - The first real position within CAD. For the most part is able to avoid mandatory runs to the coffee machine, and is primarily the individual seen manning a fax machine alongside a senior member. Is usually competent enough to send faxes on their own as well as the occasional announcement.
- Principle Secretary - A senior position within CAD, often being a mentor and guidance figure for the ones below them. Usually they are seen with junior personnel or mentoring Interns, ensuring quality control for dealing with station responses and escalating any notable issues should the situation warrant it in the event of incidents or emergencies.
- Executive Manager - The beginning of leadership within CAD. Usually Managers are placed in charge of individual Central Command locations, under the guidance and watchful eye of their own leadership. Coordinating with other departments to ensure staffing needs are met as well as contacting the leadership of other divisions in the event of notable issues occurring.
- Operations Supervisor - Senior leadership that is usually either placed in charge of a larger Central Command facility, or is the oversight for multiple smaller locations. Ensures all operational needs are met as well as providing guidance to other senior leadership members within other divisions for the purpose of ensuring proper documentation.
- Administrative Director - The Directors of CAD, ensuring that the division is following Central Command’s core value and directives. While not directly commanding a facility at this point, the few there are have a seat within the Operations Council in the event it is needed. Typically only shows up to sectors for surprise inspections of Central Command facilities.
