Animals
Except explicitly stated otherwise animals only follow their nature and do their own thing. They should not interfere with antagonists (or the crew) by helping them or ratting them out. A moproach or mouse will observe many things but it should not care about bigger pictures such as crime / NT / the station. Of course you can have reasons to help individuals: If the kind human that fed and pet you is hurt, you could try to get others attention for help. You don't have the means to comprehend complex concepts or entities such as the syndicate or command-structures. All you know as a mouse is that cheese is tasty and those kitchen-traps are ouch and evil.
Special game-mechanics
Animals have special mechanics and are usually very limited:
- Languages: Animals generally can't communicate with the crew except some rare exceptions. Slimepeople and slimes speak Bubblish. Mothpeople and moth-/moproaches speak Moff. Generally animals will understand crew but not the other way around.
- Interacting with the world
- Number of hands
- None: Can't pick up things and place them
- One: Can pick up and use simple items
- Two: Can pick up big items such as mail-packages - essentially you can do everything a normal person can, which is quite rare
- Prying open doors - some animals like Xenos can pryo open airlocks/doors, sometimes even powered ones
- Dragging items
- Number of hands
- Food
- Some don't need food at all
- Others need special food (like mothroaches eating fibrebased things like clothes)
